International Week - Thailand
This week was international week and we have been learning all about Thailand. We have had a wonderful week and have learned about lots of different aspects of Thailand and Thai life.
We have been finding out about all about where Thailand is in the world and finding out which aspects of life in Thailand are similar and different to our lives in the UK. We have learned about;
currency
language
transport
national animal
monarchy
capital cities
Beaches and Oceans - Can you name the 5 Oceans? Here is a link to help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6BE4VcYngQ
Each day we have talked about the weather here in Norwich and also in Bangkok. We have talked about the temperature, clothes we might wear and which place we'd like to be in!
We have learned about Buddhism, the largest religion in Thailand. We drew sketches of Buddah and wrote about things we were thankful for. We made flower baskets and lanterns to celebrate the festival of Loy Krathong and then talked about festivals we celebrate in the UK.
On Friday we ended the week with a "Day of Calm". We watched an assembly to learn more about meditation and the "singing bowl". Then we took part in a session to learn more about calm breathing and learned some moves based on Tai Chi. A wonderful way to end the week.

Big Talk
Look carefully at the picture.
Do you think these creatures are fierce or gentle?
Where were they discovered?
What do you think their habitat would be like? (you could also draw a picture or make them one)
How would you care for a creature like this?
