New Reception Blog post - Week beginning 8.3.21
Welcome back to school!
Well done to everybody for doing so well during lockdown 3! We are looking forward to welcoming you back to school and seeing all the children again - it feels like it's been ages!
School will be a little different for the next three weeks as you will have read in Mrs Dewing's emails. Some things will be the same and some things will be different. The classrooms look similar to how they did before - we haven't had to make many changes which is nice.
We will be doing daily phonics as we were before and we will hear each child read/do their word box words/revise the sounds every week. We will continue to read a daily story to the class.
We will be continuing with the White Rose Maths so this week it will be continuing to build with 9 and 10 for Reception and Year 1 will be working on addition and subtraction.
We will be doing mindfulness every day and learning about keeping healthy in RSHE. We will also be doing some circle time games so that the children can reconnect. We will also be doing some music appreciation by listening to a piece of music and discussing how it makes us feel, what it makes us think of and likes and dislikes.
We will be doing a physical activity ever day to get in some daily exercise!
Of course we will be doing lots of play so the children get used to interacting with each and the adults again and also building those social skills that they haven't been able to during lockdown. We will try to get outside as much as we can so fingers crossed for sunshine and warm weather!
It will be as relaxed as we can make it so the children get used to being back in school with everyone in a nice gentle way.
