WORLD RECORD HOLDERS!!!
Y1 were very excited to be able to attend the Royal Norfolk Show this year and to be part of a world record attempt - to be part of the largest percussion ensemble played on recycled materials!
This was organised by the Norfolk Music Hub and was a huge success as, with a little help from some spectators to make up the numbers, the world record was achieved - woohoo!
The noise in the Grand Ring was unforgettable as so many children banged their drums and shook their shakers - they had learned different rhythms for each type of instrument and it was very impressive.
It was a very wet start to the day but that didn't stop the children having a fantastic day, exploring different stands and activities around the Show. The sun came out in time for lunch and their performance - what a relief! There was so much to explore and not enough time to do everything but they all still had a good time - some of the children visited The Wensum Trust stand and made keyrings and played with the masks and puppets from Norwich Theatre, some enjoyed the emergency services vehicles, some visited the animals and some went to the Discovery Zone to learn about how fruit is grown and then made fruit kebabs.
An exciting day and lots of memories made.
