BMPS pupils join the world's biggest children's choir.
On Tuesday 16th January, 17 pupils from Kittiwakes class travelled to the O2 Stadium in London to take part in Young Voices 2024.
Taking place all over the country, Young Voices are the world’s largest children’s choir concerts. We joined 9,000 pupils in the O2 for an unforgettable experience. Setting off bright and early, our pupils enjoyed a wonderful view of the city skyline as we approached the O2. For some, this was their first ever visit to London, as you can imagine the excitement levels were high!!!! We enjoyed an al fresco lunch before heading into the O2 for an afternoon of rehearsals, leading into an evening performance in front of 12,000 people.
Wow, the atmosphere was incredible. Singing a variety of songs including pop, rock and Disney, the children also collaborated with MC Grammar and Rachel Williams who is a hugely successful jazz singer. Tuesday was one of those incredible experiences that our pupils will never forget. We had some very tired but exuberant children on the way home! As a school, we pride ourselves on the opportunities we give our young people, not only to broaden their horizons but to inspire them and create memories that will last a lifetime.
