We Will Remember Them
Schools across the Wensum Trust have been paying tribute to our fallen heroes and armed forces this Remembrance Day.
As well as observing the two-minute silence, some schools have gone over and above to pay their respects and learn about the importance of the day.
Garrick Green and Lodge Lane Infant Schools have been preparing their tribute for many weeks. At Garrick Green, children recycled materials to create five large poppy displays outside their school, whilst Lodge Lane have adorned their entrance with a spectacular poppy display made from the bottoms of plastic bottles. Both the displays are being featured on the Old Catton Royal British Legion Poppy Trail.
Meanwhile, children at Firside Junior School have been looking at their family history to create a community remembrance display, contributing stories, photographs and artefacts.
In lessons, each year group have been learning about one of the armed forces, looking at their roles and what the servicemen and women have done for us in the past and present.
