Early Years Education Praised by Regional Director

The Wensum English Hub and Heather Avenue Infant School’s Early Year provision has been praised by the Department for Education’s Regional Director for the East of England.

Jonathan Duff met with Heather Avenue’s headteacher, Stacey Coleman, and got the chance to see first hand how children at the school are learning to read and write.

They were both joined by Becky Taylor, the DfE’s Head of Delivery for Norfolk, Daniel Thrower, CEO of the Wensum Trust, and John Smith, Chair of Trustees.

Mr Duff heard how the Wensum Trust is committed to children having an excellent start in Early Years education with a focus on their strengths and interests.

Mr Duff said: “It is lovely to come to a school with such a focus on Early Years and learning about great practice.”
