Childnet, which works to make the internet a safe place for children, invited schools from all over the country to produce a two-minute film on the theme of ‘Time to talk! How can people support each other online.’

A group of Year 5 and 6 children planned, filmed and created a film which required them to plan storyboards, make props and animate scenes – as well as act in it themselves.

The film has now made it into the final three of the competition and the children have been invited to a special event at the British Film Institute in London where their film will be shown on the big screen and the winner announced.

Ashley Williams, teacher at Burnham Market, said: “We are absolutely thrilled the children have made it to the final of this competition. They worked so incredibly hard on this project which not only helped them develop their creative skills, but also help them learn – and share with others – the importance on online safety.”
