Celebrating World Book Day
World Book Day was celebrated across the Trust’s primary schools yesterday.
Children dressed up as their favourite book characters and spent the day taking part in book related activities across all our schools.
Hats off to the children at Firside Junior School who designed their own book themed hats to wear for the day. There were some very creative results. Meanwhile Kinsale Junior School held a competition to design a paper plate which were then put on display for parents to view after school.
Garrick Green Infant School has been celebrating books all week with a focus on the Little People Big Dreams books. The children have been learning about what made the people famous and what was special about them. This has been followed by activities linked to those people in the hope it will inspire the children to see what careers are out there and that anything is possible.
Lodge Lane Infant School has also held a week of activities which included a visit from local author and illustrator Kate Read, a visit from Norfolk Library Service, a draw your favourite book cover competition, and they baked cookies to have with hot chocolate whilst listening to stories in their pyjamas.
