Miss Banner and Mrs Herron's Blog - week beginning 12.04.21
Welcome back - we hope you have a great Spring break!
This week the story is Burglar Bill by Janet and Allan Ahlberg.
The message in this story is about the difference between right and wrong and changing our behaviour for the better.
The rest of the school are doing International week this week but in our classes we are just looking at where we live in the United Kingdom.
In maths this week we are assessing the children's skills and knowledge so that we know where all the children are and what needs to be covered this term.
The children will all write a sentence so that they get used to using their writing skills and phonics again. This will be either one to one with an adult or in small groups so that we can support each child.
In RSHE this term the focus is on relationships. This week we will be discussing our family and what we do at home. We will also be doing some calming activities to practise so that we know some strategies to use if we 'flip our lid'.
In phonics we are revising split digraphs and talking about the long vowel sounds. We will also go over the tricky words we have learned so far.
We will also be hearing readers/practising sounds/word box words.
There will also be inside and outdoor play where the children are free to learn through their play following their own interests.
Have a good week!
