The Tiger who came to tea and Shapes
English
In English this week we have been reading “The tiger who came to tea.” We have been sequencing and retelling the story to make sure we know it really well. Then we have thought about how to rewrite the story in our own words. We have been focussing on Capital letters, full stops, finger spaces and using connecting words and adjectives, We have also learned how to draw a tiger!
Maths
We have been learning about 2D shapes and their properties in Maths this week. We know these shapes.
Can you remember them at home? How many sides/edges does the shape have? Are they straight or curved? How many Corners? Can you explain how you know a square is different from a rectangle?
We also investigated how to use a mirror to make the shape and learned about symmetry.
Mrs Morgan's Maths Challenge!
Can you find or draw a shape with 4 straight sides? Do you know it's name? Can you find out it's name if not.
Do you know the names of any other shapes? Which ones can you find/photograph/draw?
Topic
Our topic work this week is learning about herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. We are looking closely at animals teeth and what they tell us about what animals eat.
What animals do you know? What do they eat? Are they a herbivore, carnivore or an omnivore?
