This week....
Our Talk Through Stories book is Where the Wild Things Are' the children seem to emjoy this story. They are also tryig to use the words that they remember from Huigless Douglas.
In Phonics Reception are learning w, ng (strong) , v, oo/oo (moon/look) and y. The Year 1s are looking at y as an alternative for ee e.g. funny. We are continuing to practise letter formation every day and we are really noticing a difference with some children as they are beginning to focus more. We are continuing with squiggle to help build our motor control.
We are continuing with stroy scribes and hearing the children read.
In Project we had the story Hansel and Gretel and we looked at the difference we could see in the book comparing long ago to today e.g. different clothes.
In maths we are learning about 5 and looking at ways we can check that we have 5.
The children have enjoyed doing the action to go with this rhyme. We are also looking at the dots on a dice and recognising the amount quickly without counting. We are noticing the patterns the dots are in.
In RE we are talking about being thankful and in Jigsaw (PSHE) we are looking at making friends.
We are continuing to practice our singing to get ready for the nativity show.
The children have also been enjoying free flow where they can go into the other class if they would like to play in there and also the outdoor area.
Please remember the Family Bookshare on Tuesday at 2.45 where you can come into class and share a book with your child.
Have a good week!
