Olive and Jade Blog 9.12.24
This week...
is the week of our nativity show. Jade class parents are invited to watch it on Wednesday morning and Olive class parents on Thursday morning. We hope to see as many of you who can come. The children have been busy practising and hopefully they will show you how good they are on the day!
We are continuing with assessments this week and because we are doing phonic assessments we will not be hearing the children read this week but we will try to change books towards the end of the week if we can. We won't be doing story scribes either as we did our writing assessments last week. We will also be doing maths assessments. These assessments will allow us to see what the children have learnt and remembered since October and will inform us about what we need to spend more time teaching.
In phonics Reception are looking at using y as an alternative for the ee digraph. We have taught the children that this is normally when the y is at the end of the word e.g. yummy. Year 1 are looking at short vowels and double letters.

In RE we are looking at Christmas traditions. We will also be revisiting our school vision 'learn to be happy, be happy to learn' and reading the story Happy.
Don't forget it is wear a Christmas Jumper day on Friday - normal uniform should be worn underneath!
Also it is the Christmas fair after school on Friday too!
