HHS Sixth Form Scholars 2020
We are delighted to announce this year’s Hellesdon Scholars.
2020 saw a record number of students recognised by the school as our highest achievers, rewarding and inspiring them on to greater things. Having gained a minimum of 4 Grade 8/9s at GCSE, all the Scholars have gone on to study 3 challenging A Levels at Hellesdon Sixth Form. The idea for the Scholarship came from the teaching staff at Hellesdon who wanted to be able to recognise the hard work of students and encourage them as they entered Post-16 education.
"It is fantastic that once again this year, we are able to present 30 students with this award. These students have a bright future ahead of them and hopefully the scholarship can go some way in supporting the high aspirations we have of all our students"
= mr taylor, director of sixth form
One of this year's Hellesdon Scholars, Archie Baldry, who is studying Computer Science, Economics and Mathematics said “Due to Covid, I was especially relieved when I received my GCSEs, for me it was evidence that all the hard work and determination had paid off. Now, with my results and scholarship, there is a great incentive for me to continue to push myself. My plan is to continue studying Computer Science at one of the Russell Group universities to pursue a career in teaching”
