Heather Avenue Infant School has received national recognition for its commitment to taking learning outside the classroom (LOtC) and has been awarded the LOtC Mark (Bronze) by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom.
This award is an excellent achievement for all the children, staff and governors at our school as it shows that we are really making strides in providing our pupils with potentially life-changing opportunities. We are thrilled to get official recognition for our efforts and we look forward to building on this award to help more children achieve their potential.
"We are incredibly pleased to have achieved this award. Our children love to learn outside and thoroughly enjoy visitors and workshops coming into school, we really feel this enhances our curriculum and the children's enjoyment of learning" - Ms Coleman, Headteacher.
The LOtC Mark is awarded by the Council for LOtC, the national voice for learning outside the classroom. LOtC is known to contribute significantly to raising standards and improving pupils' personal, social and emotional development. It also contributes to the quality and depth of learning.
