Reception Fine Motor Afternoon

Squirrels Class enjoyed inviting their parents into school to take part in some fun fine motor activities on Thursday afternoon!

This half term we invited our Reception parents/carers in to enjoy some fine motor activities with their child.  We know how important it is to practice these skills and we were excited to share some ideas with their grown ups!  With a Christmas theme, parents/carers and children were able to make some lovely things to take home with them - Christmas tree decorations, name bracelets and pipe cleaner Christmas trees!  Children also practised their fine motor skills by painting with cotton buds, peeling stickers to add to a Christmas card, scrunching tissue paper to add to wreathes and squashing play dough to make snow men.  Each child took some fine motor activity ideas to use at home too, so they can continue working on this skill together.  It was wonderful to see our children and parents/carers working together, and we are looking forward to hosting more sessions in the new year.
