Year 2 'On the Buses!'
Our Year 2's enjoyed a sight seeing and fact finding day 'up the city'
We were all very excited to see the two open top buses arrive in our school car park. As part of their learning about 'How do the wheels go round' the Year 2's have been learning about the history of transport as well as the history of our local area and local heroes.
Even Barrington bear got to have a day out.
Barton and Hickling class climbed on board the buses ready for their personalised tour from Hellesdon to Norwich. All the children had the chance to ride on the top deck of the bus in the lovely autumnal sunshine as they spotted their houses, local features and finally the landmarks and big sights of Norwich.
After their open top tour the children stopped at Norwich cathedral to have their lunch. In the afternoon the children met Edith Cavell, a local famous nurse from the past. She told us more about her life, shared stories and helped the children complete activities. Edith took the children on the tour of the cathedral as she shared her life story.
We headed back on the open top buses back to Arden Grove.
