How do I apply to Hellesdon Sixth Form?
Please complete our online application form here. HHS students will have been emailed login details to login as a registered user. External students will need to start a new application.
Can I choose subjects from the same blocks on the application form?
Unfortunately, not, the subjects are in blocks as this is how the timetable is formatted. However, at this stage is it not ‘set in stone’ if there are enough clashes we may be able to move a subject. Please email us if you have a query about subjects in blocks.
How do I know what courses I should pick?
You should pick courses that you enjoy and are interested in. You will also need to take into consideration your predicted grades and the course criteria.
Who do I speak to about my course choices?
You will need to email sixthform@hellesdon.net and the Sixth Form Team will be able to advise you.
When will I know I have been accepted for a place at sixth form?
Applicants will be informed by letter of acceptance by the end of February. Applicants will be accepted depending on final grades. You will be invited for an advice and guidance interview from January onwards.
Can I choose to study more than 3 A-Levels?
Most students study 3 A-levels, but you can choose a 4th option. This will need to be discussed in your advice and guidance interview.
What happens if I change my mind on my original chosen courses after I have submitted my application online?
You can re visit your application anytime using your email and password here.
What happens if I don’t get the correct GCSE grades to meet the criteria for the course I want to do?
The Director of Sixth Form or the HoY will need to discuss with you your options and other possible courses that may meet your grades once GCSE results are published.
