Economics Students meet the Governor of the Bank of England
Our year 12 and year 13 Economics students had a fantastic opportunity to attend a talk by Andrew Bailey (Governor of the Bank of England) at Ormiston Victory Academy this week.
Our students were given an insight into the role of the Bank of England and the current economic issues facing the UK economy. Students had the opportunity to ask questions to Andrew Bailey and this led to an engaging discussion of very topical issues such as the development of digital currency, artificial intelligence (AI), environmental policy, climate change, cryptocurrency and Brexit. This has allowed our students to gain a wider contextual knowledge of the UK economy which they can then incorporate into their upcoming exams. Our students represented us very well and it was a very enjoyable occasion.
