Pride Picnic
Each year in June, the UK marks Pride month, which is both a celebration of everyone’s individuality and a protest about the inequalities that still exist for the LGBTQ+ community.
Acle Academy is a school that welcomes everyone and Pride Month is one way we celebrate our diversity and uniqueness. So, this year we held a non-school uniform day on Friday 28th June, where students donated £1 each to wear their best colourful outfits to school that day. Thank you to students, parents and carers for your support. If you would still like to donate, you can do so via Scopay.
Proceeds will be split between LGBTQ+ rights charity Stonewall and the Diversity, Inclusion, Community and Equality (DICE) service area at Acle.
On this date, we also held a pride picnic on the school field and welcomed the Norfolk LGBT+ Project, who were selling flags, stickers and more. It was lovely to see so many students joining in.
