Friends of Lodge Lane Infant school is a charity made up of a group of parents, former parents and staff that work together to fundraise for the school by organising events throughout the school year.

You can be a part of the ‘Friends of Lodge Lane’ in lots of ways big and small, each and every way is an important part of the school supports our fundraising.

Here are some of the types of ways you can be involved:

Committee member - the committee make collective decisions with the school about how money is spent, they are accountable for the charity and some members are trustees for the charity.  The committee meet every half term for meetings and are an integral part of the running of fundraising events.  We have lots of fun and meetings usually involve a few laughs, a glass of wine and/or chocolate! Some of our committee members can’t make every meeting but there are valuable roles which can be done behind the scenes. 

Volunteer – None of our events can go ahead without the wonderful support of our volunteers. We use a volunteer sign-up sheet which is advertised on our Facebook page before events for people to volunteer for as much or as little time as they are able to commit.

Turn up, buy raffle tickets, encourage friends to attend events, sponsor children, use Easy Fundraising or Amazon Smile when buying things online, share school Amazon wish lists or buy things from it, buy ice-creams … but most of all have fun.

Whilst events are put on to raise much needed funds for the school, we also like to create positive community events for the children and adults who are part of Lodge Lane Infant School and beyond.  Some of our events are subsidised for families on a low income - this is discretely achieved and is a means to ensure children don’t miss out.

Every penny that is raised is used to improve opportunities for children at the school -  these range from small gestures such as a Christmas present for each pupil to bigger projects such as raising money to refurbish the Library.

The ‘Friends of’ have paid for many projects in recent years including:

• EYFS Playground
• Safer parking signs for school 
• New recycling bins including clothing recycling in car park 
• Christmas fun
• School books
• Hatching ducklings
• Subsidising every pupil for school trips
• Library refurbishment 
• Sensory Equipment
