Fun at the Farm!
Reception have had a wonderful time this half-term, learning all about farms through their Inquiry.
There was a big problem down at the farm – all of the animals went on strike because they were cold and wanted electric blankets. They refused to give Farmer Brown any milk or eggs until they got what they wanted.
Naturally, Farmer Brown was very upset, but fortunately, the Lodge Lane children were on hand to give him some advice and help him find a solution. Reception had lots of great ideas – the farmer could build a warm shed, knit blankets for them, or give them hot water bottles. They wrote letters to Farmer Brown with their suggestions. With some great teamwork and perseverance, Reception were able to help Farmer Brown and the animals come to an agreement, and the farm is back to normal again!
There have been some great activities going on in Reception this term, including painting farm animals, building a farm, role play and writing speech bubbles from the animals to the farmer, not to mention a fabulous trip to Wroxham Barns to see real live farm animals! We are excited to see who will need Reception’s wise advice and support next term!
