On Tuesday 17 September 24, the Y8 boys football team started the season with an impressive 3-0 win against OVA. With a squad composed of mostly last minute call ups, out of position goalkeepers and a few year 7's it was all about fighting for every ball and Hellesdon did just that.

The boys were able to gain control of the midfield from the first minute and took advantage of quick turnovers in possession to use the width well and ultimately convert this into goals.

Gerald M put in a player of the match performance having never played a game of school football before. He won every duel in midfield and let nothing past him all game.

We also had Hellesdon’s Y11B boys football team recovered from a 0-3 half time deficit to defeat Acle 4-3 in the first game of their Community League campaign. Acle dominated the first half but Hellesdon responded superbly in the second with a penalty from Phil C, two goals from Ben T, including the late winner, and a goal from Lucas C to complete the comeback.
