Support for Young Carers at Hellesdon High

We are a Young Carer friendly school and have held the Carer Friendly Tick Award since 2018.  Young Carers at Hellesdon are supported in numerous ways and we encourage students and parents to make us aware of caring responsibilities at home.

What support is available at Hellesdon?

• Monthly Young Carer group (Hellesdon Heroes), which runs during the school day
• Support from Miss Thetford, the Young Carer Lead.  She can refer for a Young Carers' Needs Assessment, help you to access an external Young Carer group or receive specialist external wellbeing support.
• Internal wellbeing sessions with pastoral workers, our wellbeing workers or the Young Carer Lead.
• Breakfast club and support with joining other clubs and doing positive activities.
