Christmas celebrations
Over the last two weeks, we have enjoyed different exciting events in the run up to Christmas.
Decorate classrooms
Staff across the school have been really busy making the school look incredibly festive to make December extra special. Of course, they are keen to win the accolade of the best decorated classroom for this year! The winners will be announced on the last day of term.
Christmas Lunches
On 7 and 8 December, over 260 children and staff enjoyed their Christmas lunch. Friends of Firside (FOF) very kindly bought special fun glasses for everyone to wear for their lunch, the Midday Supervising Assistants (MSAs) decorated the room and we had festive tunes adding to the atmosphere. We all had a brilliant time and it was wonderful to see children and staff enjoying lunch together.
Friends of Firside (FOF) Christmas Market
Our wonderful Friends organised a fantastic Christmas Market for the first time since 2019. There were crafts, games, face painting, raffles and refreshments and lots of money raised for the school. Thank you to everyone who came along.
Christmas performances
On 13 and 14 December we welcomed parents into school to watch the Christmas performances. The children have been rehearsing for weeks and it was wonderful to see them singing so beautifully and performing so well for their audiences. Each year group performed a separate concert for their families which meant four different shows over two days!
We asked parents to donate a bag of sugar as their ticket to the performances and we were overwhelmed with over 180 bags of sugar collected. These will be donated to the Buckingham Emergency Food Appeal who collect sugar for shelters. At Christmas time, more sugar is needed to help homeless and vulnerable people. Thank you to everyone who donated.
