Introducing our Team Captains for 2026-2027 A huge well done to all of the pupils who applied for the positions - we had a really difficult decision choosing just eight children. All of the children who applied received a round of applause in assembly and will receive 5 team points for putting themselves forward for the roles. Congratulations to the successful candidates - we look forward to seeing you shine as captains!

DREAM Award assembly 18.9.26 What a jam-packed assembly we had today to celebrate some amazing achievements! A huge well done to all of the children recognised - a huge number of certificates and award were given out today! We celebrated every single one of the children who took part in the Fonetti Summer Read aloud challenge (there were over 100!) They each received a certificate and we also celebrated our top readers Luca Y6 (1st), Alexis Y6 (2nd), Sophie Y6 (3rd), Charlie Y6 (4th) and Reuben Y6 (5th). A special mention to Luca and Alexis who came 7th and 8th in the East of England! We celebrated the top three TTRS most improved children from across the school. These children are making great strides to improving their times on their recall of their tables. We awarded two full millionaires and one half millionaire for children who continued reading and quizzing over the summer holidays to reach these impressive milestones We were finally able to give out 12 Rock Hero badges that were awarded last term as the badges were delivered this week (these pupils have achieved an average time of under 1 second per question on TTRS!) We announced our Team captains for 2026-2027 but also celebrated every single pupil who applied for the roles. It was incredibly challenging to choose between the applications but congratulations to the new captains. Their first role as captains was to count ALL of the team points for this week. Well done to WATER house for another win this week.

Author Visit – Lui Sit Today, we were delighted to welcome author Lui Sit for a whole-school assembly. Lui spoke to the children about growing up in Australia and the fascinating animals she encountered there, which helped inspire the wildcat at the heart of her novel, Land of the Last Wildcat. She shared some exciting extracts from the newest book in the series, The Wildcat and the Gathering Storm, and talked about some of the important messages within her stories, including embracing new experiences, coping with change and helping others. To finish the visit, children who had purchased a book had the special opportunity to meet Lui and have their book signed. A wonderful experience for our pupils and a fantastic way to celebrate reading across the school! #DREAM
