NSPCC Number Day 2023!
On Friday 3 February we did all things number! This was part of an awareness day by the NSPCC to celebrate number and at the same time raise some money for their charity. There were numbers everywhere! Although we do maths lessons every day, this was a special day focused on number. Children took part in various activities around number in their lessons There were events in classes, maths challenges and physical activities based on number.
Children were invited to come into school in a number themed outfit. It was fantastic seeing the range of outfits. One child from each year group won a prize for their class with the best number themed outfit. Here are just a selection of the amazing number outfits we saw.
At lunchtime, Mr Townsend welcomed crowds of children into his classroom to take part in some number challenges. How wonderful to see so many children wanting to do extra maths during their lunchtime! The children earned tokens for having a go and extra tokens if they managed to solve the problems he set them. All of the tokens went into a prize draw and six prizes were awarded at random. Thank you Mr Townsend for organising a brilliant activity for the children.
