World Book Day 2024
For World Book Day on Thursday 7 March, we had fun celebrating all things books. The staff designed some incredible book themed decorated doors which we have all been enjoying this week.
Activities on the day in lessons included live lessons with authors Raahat Kaduji and Michael Morpurgo, bookmark marking and quizzes. Some children took part in the Premier League Primary Stars book quiz. We had a special themed lunch organised by Norse which was delicious (especially the Bruce Bogtrotter chocolate brownie!) Staff also organised a fun 'Masked Reader' quiz where the children had to guess the identity of the staff readers (see pictures below).
And of course, our big showstopper event was the potato book character competition. We were absolutely overwhelmed with the creativity of the children to make their potatoes into book characters. Mrs Robinson had the very challenging job of judging them and one winner in each year group won a special trophy and £10 book token. Well done to everyone who took part.
